Architecture profile

What I bring to the table.

Three tasks that recur in almost every project – regardless of industry or technology stack.

Software Architecture

Conception, assessment and continuous evolution of robust, scalable and maintainable software architectures.

Embedded to Cloud

End-to-end perspective from embedded ECU environments and Linux-based platforms to cloud-based solutions.

AI-assisted Engineering

Building and productively using AI-assisted, agent-based tools – from requirements analysis to automated release testing.

AI Engineering

AI tools I have built.

From my work at Bosch Engineering GmbH – not prototypes, but tools running on real target hardware every day.

Requirements

AI-assisted requirements engineering

Built an AI tool that automatically analyzes customer documents and generates requirements – significantly reducing manual analysis effort.

Testing

Agent-based smoke testing

AI agents automatically test every software release on the real target system – continuous quality assurance without manual test effort. The same tests I ran by hand on test vehicles fourteen years ago.

Speech

Voice interface with Amazon Nova Sonic

Integrated AI-based speech recognition into a technical system environment.

Diagnostics

Condition monitoring with open AI models

Applied open-source models for automated condition detection of complex technical systems.

Production experience

Four projects from fifteen years of production development.

Selected work from my time at Bosch Engineering GmbH – from ECU base software to safety-critical architecture.

Architecture

ASIL D for sensor fusion and navigation

Software and system architecture for sensor fusion and navigation in driver assistance, designed for six product variants on a shared base. ASIL D throughout – the highest integrity level defined by ISO 26262.

Electrification

An underground loader, electrified

Base software for the motor control unit of an electrified underground loader (LHD): 14 tonne payload, 180 kW drive power. Built from the first line of code to a running prototype.

Production

Contactor ageing in the high-voltage path

A software function assessing contactor ageing in the battery management system of an electric vehicle. Developed, validated in-vehicle, shipped in series production.

Validation

Compiler validation for production use

Demonstrating that the toolchain in use meets the requirements for safety-related software – a precondition for the series release of transmission control units.

Experience

From the driver to the cloud.

Deeply embedded, complex drivers, ECU integration, architecture, cloud – many stacks and domains over the years, not one.

Professional Expert for Software Architecture

Design of complex software architectures in demanding, technology-driven projects. Focus on AI-assisted agent-based software development, high-performance computing, Linux-based systems and cloud.

Software and Systems Architect, Driver Assistance

Architectural ownership of sensor fusion and navigation under ASIL D constraints. Interface and protocol decisions, requirements derivation, variant architecture across six product variants.

Hardware-near software development, Driver Assistance

Complex device drivers on Infineon AURIX, MCAL configuration within the AUTOSAR basic software stack, data logging, hardware bring-up and fault analysis on target hardware.

Production software development, Bosch Engineering GmbH

Battery management systems for electric vehicles, electrification of a mining machine, transmission control units in OEM customer projects – from function development through validation to series release.

Dipl.-Ing. (FH)
